Nasal Adrenaline device

It is exciting to see that EURNEffy has been licensed in the UK today

This is a nasal adrenaline adrenaline device which may provide an alternative to injectable intramuscular adrenaline for some people. It is great to see new options coming on to the market and giving our allergy patients choice. This device is needle free and is already being used in the USA, the European licence came at a similar time to the UK licence.

There is good data on the blood levels of adrenaline being similar between injectable and intranasal which is excellent! There are several studies which are ongoing to look at "real world" use and its effectiveness but I am very hopeful this will work well for our needle phobic patients and when carrying an adrenaline pen can be hard ( I am looking at teenage boys who don't carry a bag with them, as I think this is more likely to fit in a pocket).
